Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital
The Cheltenham and Gloucester Nuffield Hospital, based in Cheltenham, provides private hospital services from its 33-bed facility. The hospital has two major operating theatres with laminar flow - this is a special clean air system which reduces the risk of infection during operations. It is especially useful during orthopaedic procedures - specifically joint replacement operations. The hospital offers a wide range of complementary therapies - acupuncture, aromatherapy, homeopathy and hypnotherapy are all available. The range of physiotherapy services available is also wide.
Special treatment for sports injury is offered, as is hydrotherapy, and a gymnasium. Although the hospital does not offer surgery on children under three years, it can operate on those aged between three and twelve. There is always at least one member of staff on duty with Paediatric Advanced Life Support training, so there is cover in the event of an emergency. Surgery for breast and bowel cancer can also be undertaken at the hospital, and both units are BUPA-approved. Chemotherapy services are also available, and palliative care for those patients whose illness is terminal.Category:
